White pebbles

Here is the first of the illustrations I made for my summer school.
The first week our incredible prof, Mr. Carll Cneut, decided to make us work on classic fairytales, and I went for Hansel and Gretel.
So, this is what happens when Hansel, after slinking in the garden, collects the white pebbles that are shining in the moonlight.

We had to work on two full illustrations and a complete storyboard in a week, but I'm quite happy with how this turned out. I used pencils and acrylics to speed up the painting process. Fun fact: in order to annoy our neighbours, who were also having an illustration course with another teacher, Carll Cneut played the same song on the radio at an incredible volume, over and over and over and over again, for six f*cking days.
The song was one of the worst Italian hits ever, "Tuca Tuca" by Raffaella Carrà.
